Whether you are finding inspiration to begin your lockdown fitness routine or already on your fitness journey, Sara Arfeen Khan will inspire you with her post-pregnancy fitness journey.
Sara opens up about easing into a fitness routine after the birth of her twin babies, Aizah and Zidane in 2019 and how postpartum is such a crucial time for women. “It is a very crucial time for women after they have given birth. Although resting and eating well is important, one must also start working out once the resting period is over as later you will tend to get used to your excess weight. Besides the longer you leave, the harder it gets to shed that postpartum weight.”
Sara believes being fit will not just strengthen and tone your muscles but also raise your energy levels to take better care of your child. “For me being fit is more important now than ever before because I will be able to look after my twin babies better and indulge in all the physical activities with them. Also as parents, if we stay fit and healthy, our kids will pick up the value of a healthy lifestyle naturally.”
Shedding light on her diet and workout routine, Sara said, “I work out 4 days a week and my workout is 30-40 mins cardio and then 20 mins weight training. As for my diet, I try to maintain a protein diet however, Sundays are my cheat day or you can say carbs day!!”
