Amazing uses of Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is an essential oil, which is probably used in many beauty products. It has a lot of benefits for your skin and hair and it also has a refreshing fragrance. Recently we came to know that although tea tree oil is a fab beauty find, there are so many other uses that many aren’t aware of. So, let’s check out what are they-

1. Acne-

One of the major uses of tea tree oil is for acne. Tea tree oil is said to be a natural alternative to benzoyl peroxide, so if you’re ever caught without acne treatment, you can apply tea tree oil to the area to fight bacteria and reduce inflammation. Make sure you test it out on your inner wrist before you apply it anywhere else to make sure you don’t get any irritation.

2. Nails-

Tea tree oil is used to treat brittle, weak fingernails. Tea tree oil can help prevent and strengthen brittle nails, so after consistent use your nails will be long and strong. It’s also said to help prevent nail damage and breakage, you can try diluting some tea tree oil with some water and soaking your nails for 5 minutes.

3. Fungus-

Another use for tea tree oil on the nails is to use it on toenail fungus. If you go to a nail salon that doesn’t properly sanitize their tools, it is possible to get fungus on your nails. In that case, apply a thin coat of tea tree oil to your nail a few times a day. You might have to experiment with how often you apply it- some people like to apply it up to 4 times a day and others like doing a foot soak.

4. Muscles-

If you went extra hard at the gym and have the sore muscles to prove it, treat yourself to a relaxing bath or massage with tea tree oil. To use it in the bath, add 10-15 drops with a ½ cup of Epsom salts to your bath water. To use it as a massage oil, add 10 drops of the oil to 2 tablespoons of a carrier oil such as olive or sweet almond oil and grab your significant other!

5. Scalp Treatment-

Tea tree oil can help you get rid of oil and product build-up on your scalp. Tea tree oil is also good for treating dandruff. You can buy a tea tree oil shampoo, or add your own to your favorite shampoo. Just add 10 drops for every 8 ounces of shampoo.
