Baahubali 2 and Enthiran 2 to release on same day: Rajinikanth, Prabhas gift people 2017’s biggest clash
Shankar’s 2.0 starring superstar Rajinikanth and SS Rajamouli’s the most-anticipated film Baahubali is all set to hit the screens on the same day: April 17, 2017, according to a report published in The New Indian Express. This is going to be one of the biggest clashes in the history of Indian film industries.
Few weeks ago, the makers of Baahubali officially announced that they will be releasing the film on April 17 and it was expected that Enthiran 2 will not hit the screens on the same day because it will turn out bad for both the film.
A source close to 2.0’s crew has contradicted the earlier assumption. It is said that the makers of 2.0 are also eyeing the same date since it is the Tamil New Year. “Why not? The mother language of Baahubali is Telugu while Robot is in Tamil. The clash will not be headlong. And it’s a long weekend, beginning 14 April. Long enough to accommodate two big films”, said the source.
But a trade analyst, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, has claimed that it is a rumour and the makers of both the film will not take such risks. “It can be said with 100% certainty that the news is a rumour. The films cannot be released on the same day because the main problem will be lack of screens.”
He also added that Baahubali is not just a Telugu film but a Tamil-Telugu bilingual and it has equal market as 2.0 in Tamil Nadu.
