Cast: Varun Dhawan, Huma Qureshi, Yami Gautam, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Divya Dutta, Radhika Apte
Director: Sriram Raghavan
Rating: 3.5 Stars

Sriram Raghavan is back with an action thriller and that’s what he does best. In ‘Badlapur’ Varun Dhawan plays the lead and one of the most talented actors of our times Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the bad guy.

Varun Dhawan plays the Character of Raghav in the film. His wife and child are killed all of a sudden under unfortunate circumstances, they just happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and that’s where the revenge drama begins.
The film follows Raghav’s life for the next 15 years. Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the character of Liak who is a bank robber and killer and has been put behind bars and lives with hope that after 20 years he will go out and have a good life with the money he robbed with the help of his partner Harman (Vinay Pathak). But Raghav has other plans for them.

Till date it is Varun Dhawan’s best performance. It really tough to believe that this is just Varun’s fourth film and he delivers one of the most impactful performances by a male lead in 2015 so far. Talking about Nawazuddin Siddiqui, again he has delivered a brilliant performance. He continues to surprise us with is brilliant acting skills. Huma Qureshi who plays the character of Jhumli is a prostitute who Liak is in love with. Divya Dutta is a social worker who works for the welfare of convicts. All the credits goes to casting department they nailed it with the pairing of Varun Dhawan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

This film has some amazing moments and a lot of credit goes to the director and his actors. Raghvan gives them an open field to perform and show their best skills, the magic is obviously in the writing. The film also has its fair share of unnecessary scenes like the s*x scene between Raghav and Jhimli.

Music by Sachin – Jigar works very well specially the song Jee Karda and the song is on the top charts even.

If you enjoy thrillers then you shouldn’t miss Badlapur, you get the watch the best of Varun and Nawaz.
