Fantasy hits the fiction hard; here’s how…

Indian Television is the genesis of fiction and non-fiction shows, which are deeply rooted in the Indian market. With different non-fiction shows with varied themes being launched, the category is giving a tough time to the fiction. Well, undoubtedly fantasy has worked well with the audience. A prime example being Ekta Kapoor‘s Naagin series, which has constantly topped the TRP chart since the first season.

Following this genre, Ekta has brought several similar shows on board and they have received appreciation from the audience as well. Kavach- Kaali Shaktiyon Se and Qayamat Ki Raat are out of the few Balaji’s fantasy show with an evil spirit being involved.

Star Plus‘ recent addition with a unique plot line is Nazar in this compelling fantasy genre. With Fantasy standing independent as a genre, several on-going fictional shows have grasped the ghostly, demonized, and evil aspect from it.

The current track of SAB TV‘s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is witnessing a ghost drama with a Daravni Dulhan running behind Popatlal with an aspiration to marry him.

Now we get a news that &TV‘s Bhabhi Ji Ghar Pe Hain will also experience a similar plot in the coming episodes, but of course minus the Daravni Dulhan.

As we reported today, Bigg Boss 11 fame Arshi Khan too has been roped in to play a Ghost in Colors TV‘s Savitri Devi College & Hospital. Thus, inducing a ghostly element here too.

In the recent past, Star PlusYeh Hai Mohabbatein too had a horror drama in place, which had worked well for the TRP too.

Seems like, the ghost plot-line is the trend of this season, which definitely works well in the competition of TRP.
