Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania To Cross 100 Crores
The recently released ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ starrring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles was released four days ago and the film is already considered a super hit.
Made on a budget of ₹29 crore, the film has already raked in ₹33.74 crore at the domestic box office till Sunday. And now, according to trade analysts, the movie is all set to cross the ultimate Bollywood success benchmark of the coveted 100-crore collections.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#HSKD surpasses all expectations and has a fantabulous Sunday: Fri 9.02 cr, Sat 11.25 cr, Sun 13.46 cr. Total 33.74 cr nett. India biz”. Apparently, the film is doing great in the overseas market too. The trade has observed that collections are better in the North India circuit and understandably so, as the film is entirely based in Delhi and Ambala.
For Alia, ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ marks her fourth consecutive hit as all her previous films, ‘Student Of The Year’ , ‘Highway’ and ‘2 States’ have scored well at the box office.
The Karan Johar production marked the debut of writer/director Shashank Khaitan and brings back Alia and Varun as a couple after their successful debut film Student Of The Year. Karan Johar has been playing the perfect mentor to Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan right from the start. He directed as well as produced SOTY, which also launched another promising newcomer Sidharth Malhotra.
Not surprisingly, the trio was among the select few guests Johar invited to a small get together he hosted on Sunday to celebrate ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’s’ stunning start.
Sidharth Malhotra’s latest release ‘Ek Villain’ propelled him to the elite ₹100 crore club. He along with Varun pretended to be locked in a bout of fisticuffs for the shutterbugs, obviously taking a potshot at unconfirmed reports that they are not on friendly terms anymore.
