Is Ekta Kapoor finally hinting at making Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’s TV version?

Balaji’s head honcho, Ekta Kapoor, is on a roll. The TV czarina is constantly announcing projects, one after another. While she is sharing the looks of Karishma Tanna, Anita Hassanandani from Naagin 3, the audience is also waiting to get updates on the Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot. But that’s not all. There’s apparently a lot more than the producer has in store for us.

Rumour has it that Ekta will be making the TV version of Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan-starrer Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. The family drama of 2001 also starring Kareena Kapoor, Kajol and Jaya Bachchan holds a special place in everyone’s heart. And needless to say, we will love a TV reboot of the same. And, it seems like, Ekta too, is finally dropping hints that suggests that the rumors might be true after all.

Ekta took to Twitter and wrote that she will be making a family soap after ages. It is true. It has indeed been a long time since Ekta has worked on a family-based show. In this new show, that will be aired on Sony, she will present a family that accepts each other and stays together. She also mentioned that it will be basic but also simply warm and endearing. Her mention of the content being a 2018 take on the age-old family story also gave us all reasons to speculate that it just might be the Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham remake that she is talking about.

Apart from Naagin 3, Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot and now this Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham TV version, rumour mills are a buzz with reports that Ekta will be producing another supernatural soap on Star Plus and also we exclusively told you that Yeh Hai Mohabbatein will have a spin-off, Yeh Hai Chahate, based on Sound Of Music. With all these content-heavy shows expected to come on air soon, we expect all of you must be a lot excited.
