Kajal Opts Out Of Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Aur Devdas’
Kajal Aggarwal will not be acting in director Sudhir Mishra’s upcoming romantic drama, ‘Aur Devdas’. According to reports, it is learnt that the actress chose to opt out of the film owing to her prior commitments in Tollywood. She is currently working on two big ticket ventures — Ram Charan’s ‘Govindudu Andari Vadele’ and NTR’s upcoming film, ‘Nenorakam’ directed by Puri Jagannadh.
“Kajal was supposed to start shooting for the first schedule of Sudhir Mishra’s film in Lucknow from September. But since she is working on multiple projects in Telugu and Tamil, she couldn’t commit the dates for the film, forcing her to opt out of the project,” says a source in the film’s unit, adding that the filmmakers have begun looking out for a replacement.
Apparently, the actress was very keen on working with Sudhir Mishra, but had to opt out unable to manage the required dates. Kajal is currently shooting for Ram Charan’s film and a Tamil film starring Dhanush.
A political thriller, ‘Aur Devdas’ is Sudhir Mishra’s adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Bengali novel ‘Devdas’, and has Bhatt playing the lead role of ‘Devdas’. Kajal Aggarwal was supposed to return Hindi films after ‘Special 26’ and was supposed to play the role of Chandramukhi. Richa Chadha would play the role of Paro. The rest of the cast includes Saurabh Shukla, Vipin Sharma, Vineet Singh and Anurag Kashyap.
