Kangna Ranaut to be honored with the ‘Best Actress’ award at the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne

Kangna Ranaut, who has been riding high on success after giving blockbusters like Queen and Tanu Weds Manu returns, has been chosen to be honored with the ‘Best Actress’ award for her flick, ‘Tanu Weds Manu returns’ at the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne.

Kangana, who doesn’t believe in awards and do not accept any award in the country has decided to follow the same rule at the prestigious event too. The actress declined to the accept the award humbly, but she will be attending the festival with her team of Katti Batti.

As per reports, a source said, “The Melbourne Film Festival wants to present Kangna with the Best Actress award for Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Kangna and the entire cast of Katti Batti have been invited to the festival. Though she will be gracing the event, she has politely declined the award.”

For the festival, Kangana will be accompanied by her colleagues and the other Bollywood celebrities who will be attending the event, include Anil Kapoor who will be hoisting the Indian National Flag on 15th August along with daughter Sonam Kapoor. Vidya Balan, who is the face of the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne, will be addressing the issue of gender equality during the festival this time.

Kangana would be next seen romancing Imran Khan in her upcoming movie ‘Katti Batti’, which is a romantic comedy film directed by Nikhil Advani.

The actress would also showcase her talent as the director of an English short film called as ‘The Touch’ which is about a relationship between a four-year-old boy and a dog; she co-wrote the screenplay with an Australian writer and completed principal photography in America.
