A surprising catch by Australian player Chris Lynn in the final over made the difference as Kolkata Knight Riders closely bang Royal Challengers Bangalore by 2 runs in an Indian Premier League (IPL) game at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday, April 24.
Royal Challengers is looking for their third victory on the trot, put Knight Riders into bat and they achieved 150 for 7 in 20 overs with Chris Lynn 45 runs and Jacques Kallis 43 runs doing the bulk of the scoring.
Royal Challengers were in control during the run chase after a speedy start offered by Yogesh Takawale 40 runs off 28 balls. Virat Kohli 31 runs and Yuvraj Singh 31 runs then took over and it looked they would canter to win. Sunil Narine (1/17) separated Kohli in the 16th over but requiring 29 runs off 25 balls, Royal Challengers were still the favorites.
