Ravindra Jadeja Makes Test Return vs South Africa, Harbhajan Singh Dropped
Ravindra Jadeja has been picked for the first two Tests against South Africa and will be part of India’s Test squad again.The Saurashtra left-arm spinner, however, failed to make the ODI squad for the last two matches of the five-match series.
Jadeja replaces Harbhajan Singh, who was part of the Test squad for the tour of Sri Lanka. The 27-year-old Jadeja last played a Test against England in Manchester in August 2014.
The national selectors met in Delhi on Monday to name the squad for the last two ODIs and the first two Tests. Sreenath Aravind, who played the Twenty20 series against the South Africans, has been picked in the ODI squad in place of Umesh Yadav.
Ishant Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin have been picked in the Test squad. Both players are nursing injuries.
