Talent of the week – Vandita Shrivastava
Vandita Shrivastava is an MBA turned actress who’s been in Maharashtra for the past 10 years. She comes from an army background as her dad is a retired Colonel from the Indian army. She did her schooling in Agra and she moved to Nasik for her graduation. She came to Mumbai to do her MBA in HR and went on to work with major MNC’s like Samsung and Dodsal enterprises. She is also armed with an LLB and gathered experience working with financial companies for 2 years. Her tryst with acting began with her being selected and working for 4 short films. She’s also worked in major serials like ‘Mata ki chowki’ on Sahara one and ‘Tum dena sath mera’ on Life OK. She also went on to appear on 12 episodes of CID along with an episode on ‘Shapath’. Apart from acting, the gorgeous Vandita has done ramp shows for major clothing brand 109 Clothing. She has featured in several Print Ads – Davidoff cool water perfume, Axis Bank, Lakme Fashion week and has also worked for major designers like Sumit Dasgupta, Sayantan Sarkar, Devarun, Amalraj Sengupta, Nupur Kanoi etc. She went on to do print shoots for Stylekandy.com, Marvel Tea and catalogues for Davidoff perfumes amongst others.
Her big screen calling was in the form of Amir Khan starrer ‘Talaash’ where she had a brief role. She also appeared in the critically acclaimed film, ‘Matru ki bijli ka mandola’ directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. The multi talented Vandita Shrivatsava enjoys writing as well and has written a couple of scripts. She is interested in movies, TV commercial, prints and ramp shows. She finds inspiration from the legendary Madhuri Dixit herself. She expresses her desire to work with directors like Madhur Bhandarkar, Vishal Bharadwaj, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Karan Johar, and Ram Gopal Verma. The hardworking actress feels that Kangana Ranaut is the most stylish celebrity in the film industry today and feels that no one could be as romantic as SRK on screen. She has a huge crush on Arjun Rampal while John Abraham remains her favourite. The quote that drives her is ‘The journey of thousand miles begins with a single step’.
