Tips to repair damaged hair.

Most of us suffer from hair problems like split ends, dry, dull and frizzy hair. We use many type of shampoos to treat this issues but you don’t get much satisfying results as you desire. So, here are some tips which you can try to repair your damaged hair and make your hair healthy.

1. Trimming your hair: You should get your hair cut or trimmed often and one of the important thing is that, you should get your hair trimmed using very sharp scissors. If your hair has a straw-like texture with split ends, the first thing you can do to restore its health is going to the salon and get a trim. Cutting your hair will immediately make it look fresher and restore its body.

2. Stop using heat on your hair: After your hair is cut you should treat it very gently until its health is restored. That means you should not use any type of heat on your hair in the form of blow dryers, curling irons or straightening irons. Let your hair exist in its most natural state when you’re repairing it.

3.  Stop dying or processing your hair: The process of bleaching the color from your hair and then adding chemicals to dye it another color is extremely damaging. Bleaching or dying hair that’s already in bad shape can actually lead to hair breakage, hair loss and bald patches.

4. Use sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner: Shampoo and conditioner made with natural oils and herbs will help repair your hair. Shop in a health food store for natural products made with ingredients that restore moisture to dry, damaged hair.

Avoid shampoos and conditioner made with sodium laurel or laureth sulfates. These are industrial cleaning agents which are added to many soaps and shampoos. They clean your hair, but also remove natural protective oils from it. You can use natural shampoos instead which will not damage your hair.

5. Treat your hair with oil:  You can use olive oil and other natural oils to add moisture back to your hair. Simply massage the oil into your hair, let it sit for about fifteen minutes, then rinse it out with lukewarm water.

6. Don’t wash your hair too often: Washing your hair every day makes it dry, since it doesn’t give your scalp the chance to produce the oils your hair needs to stay healthy. So, to avoid this you should wash your hair two or three times a week.

7. Stop using hot water to wash your hair: Wash your hair with lukewarm or cool water. Using hot water on your hair causes damage, but cool or even cold water causes the hair shafts to lie flat, giving your hair a shiny, glossy appearance.

8. Wear a swim cap in the pool: During swimming we should wear a cap that will help to protect your hair from getting damaged because of chlorine present in the water.
